Intro Webinar to "LifeCourse Tools for Respite" for Field Test Volunteers

ARCH has been working with the National Community of Practice in Supporting Families at the University of Missouri to develop LifeCourse tools for respite that will help families to recognize what relationships, volunteer services, or community activities or supports exist in their communities that could provide respite outside the formal service system.  We would like to invite you to learn more about field testing the LifeCourse Tools for Respite with families you may work with.  As a Lifespan Respite grantee, or a State Respite Coalition leader, or a LifeCourse Tools Advisory group member, you may volunteer to participate in the field test if you work directly with families or you may nominate a respite program or service that would be able to conduct the field test. Family caregivers can be caring for an individual of any age or condition. This is not limited to family caregivers of individuals with I/DD.

To learn more about the field test and to begin training to administer the tools, we have scheduled a webinar tentatively for July 25, 2017, from 3:00 – 5:00 PM Eastern time.  If you are interested, please save the date and let me know of your interest by July 12, 2017.

Only a limited number of individuals will be able to participate in the training to administer the field test.

To learn more about the CoP's Guiding Framework and LifeCourse Tools generally, visit their website. You can also view the PPT presentation of Jane St. John, who is heading up the team at CoP on the development of the tools, that she made to the Lifespan Respite Grantee and Partners at last year's learning symposium in Denver. She shared a draft of the tools at that time.  The Respite Resource Guide that provides instruction on how to use the tools has been developed since that date.
