Training & Educational Programs

Overview

The Colorado Respite Coalition offers a number of educational programs for family caregivers and respite care providers throughout the state. Training and education are a major need for families and providers in Colorado and these opportunities may provide some assistance.

The Colorado Respite Coalition can also provide funding for caregiver or respite related trainings that organizations, agencies and community groups wish to hold. For information on training opportunities offered by partner organizations across the state, please visit our Online Resource Finder.

Resource Finder

Are you a caregiver interested in attending a training or educational class? The Colorado Respite Coalition (CRC) may be able to help! The CRC encourages caregivers to seek out trainings, conferences and other educational opportunities. In some cases, the CRC can support caregivers with small educational scholarships. Coming Up for Air

Coming Up For Air is a three-day event for families with disabilities. The weekend is hosted at Easterseals' Rocky Mountain Village camp. Throughout the weekend, children will receive support by trained staff and volunteers and participate in fun, recreational activities while parents/caregivers gain community resources, financial tips and tools to manage stress.

Instructional videos and recorded webinars are available on our YouTube Channel, and linked here. The CRC can also host a virtual or in person session for employers or community groups that can be catered to different audiences.

If you have a training program focused on respite and family caregivers, the Colorado Respite Coalition wants to hear about it! Submit your training proposal using the form below to be considered for financial assistance with program costs.

REST Training

Respite Education and Support Tools (REST) is an evidence-based respite-training program that equips individuals to become REST Companions to provide respite in order to support caregivers who are caring for people with disabilities and healthcare needs across the lifespan.

Stress Busting Program

The Stress-Busting Program is offered for both family and professional caregivers. The course was originally developed for emergency first responders, but has been expanded to include different types of caregivers.

The Colorado Respite Coalition, Easterseals Colorado, and JFK Partners are joined forces to host the educational series: Challenging Behaviors in Respite Care: Understanding Behaviors Across the Lifespan.
